Topic Tuesday: My discharge has a foul odor. Do I have an infection?

A change in the odor of your vaginal discharge may be a sign that you have vaginitis.

Vaginitis is "inflammation" of your vagina and can be caused by bacteria (BV), yeast, or flagella (Trichomoniasis).

Unfortunately, vaginitis is extremely common and can be difficult to treat. At FPA Women's Health we can send a definitive test that can help your provider determine the best course of treatment for you. A change in your vaginal discharge might also be a sign of a sexually transmitted infection.
