I was nervous scheduling the appointment, because I have zero experience with the organization. Things that helped ease that nervousness were: calling and speaking with a human-being, not an answering service, calling and not being put on hold, ease of scheduling the appointment, price transparency, and allowing me to ask pre-appointment preparation questions. The clinic was quiet and not crowded. This could have been because my appointment was so early in the morning, but it was comforting. I don't think the staff went out their way to be overly-polite, rather (as a staff) everyone is just welcoming and very helpful. I had to have a relatively uncomfortable procedure performed, and the woman performing the procedure, I think her name was Jessa, was so gentle that the procedure was not uncomfortable at all. Another thing that stuck out to me was speaking with someone in depth about my medical history and the reason for the visit prior to payment. At my PCP and Planned Parenthood payment is taken before the visit begins, which is off-putting. Most people are more comfortable with paying for services, after they have been performed. I was comfortable speaking up for any misconceptions the staff may have had about my medical history (because I wasn't being very clear). Scheduling following up appointments was easy, especially in comparison to my PCP when I can't get an appointment for weeks on end. They do not have their own parking, but there is plenty of street parking (some free and some not). I was comparing my visit to the experiences I've had at large chain hospitals in CA, Planned Parenthood in CA, and the way women's health is practiced where I am from (not CA). My experience at FPA Women's Health was the closest I've ever gotten to receiving the high level of attention and care I am accustomed to where I am from (not CA). Other notable staff members who helped make my experience so positive were Melissa (I think that's the receptionist's name), Monica, and Myra.

I went to the following location and was given professional and caring help.1700 Lombard St #110 Oxnard, California 93030. They completely exceeded expectations and completely impressed me. I was able to get the care I needed in a very timely manner. When I came back for a follow up I was pressed for time due to work. They were able to expedite my appointment without sacrificing quality. I am very grateful to the wonderful staff at this facility!

If I could leave more stars I would.. they took care of me since the moment I approached their window. Staff is friendly and extremely caring.. I’ll never be visiting another planned parenthood in my entire life. Can’t compete where you can’t compare. I 100000% recommend everyone to visit a FPA location nearby.
